The SM-SH40 cleat adapters improve how SPD cleats work on the smooth outsoles of most road bike shoes. They have pontoons that recess your SPD cleats to improve walking stability when off the bike. The pontoon's durable PU coating provides non-slip traction and reduce the risk of scratching indoor floors. They also help dissipate the loads on carbon or composite soles from the two tightly spaced SPD cleat bolts.
