Giant Trance X SX Advanced – Precision Control for Aggressive Trail Riding
The Giant Trance X SX Advanced is a high-performance full-suspension trail mountain bike built to dominate rock rolls, sketchy drops, and technical step-ups with confidence. This full-composite trail bike blends longer-travel suspension, adjustable geometry, and a mixed wheel setup to create a responsive, capable ride that thrives on demanding singletrack.
Designed for aggressive trail riders who want more capability without stepping into full enduro territory, the Trance X SX Advanced delivers stability at speed, precision through technical sections, and a playful feel when the trail gets steep and tight.
Key Performance Factors
Updated Maestro Suspension Performance
The SX series introduces an all-new Maestro rear suspension system with increased travel, delivering 145mm of smooth, active rear suspension optimized for technical trail riding. A trunnion-mount rear shock paired with an Advanced Forged Composite rocker arm provides a longer stroke, improved small-bump sensitivity, and increased chassis stiffness for better tracking over rough terrain. Up front, a 160mm suspension fork adds confidence and control when pushing hard on aggressive trails.
Adjustable Trail Geometry
Advanced flip chip technology allows riders to fine-tune the bike’s geometry for different terrain and riding styles. The high setting increases ground clearance for tight, technical singletrack, while the low setting delivers a slacker head angle and lower bottom bracket for added stability at higher speeds. A neutral middle position balances agility and control. In addition, a headset flip chip offers 10mm of total reach adjustment, allowing riders to further dial in fit and handling.
Mixed Wheel Setup for Technical Terrain
The Giant Trance X SX Advanced features a 27.5-inch rear wheel, creating a popular mullet trail bike setup. The smaller rear wheel enhances agility, delivers a snappier feel through corners, and increases saddle-to-tire clearance—ideal for steep, technical terrain where maneuverability matters most.
